International law firm Brown Rudnick LLP is partnering with GreenBackers Investment Capital on their climate technologies pitch programme “26 for COP26,” the United Nations Climate Summit being held in Glasgow in November.
Delivering a global address during the launch of the program William R. Baldiga, Brown Rudnick’s CEO said, “The climate crisis ranks as one of the crucial issues of our time. Innovation is key and Brown Rudnick’s clients are actively involved in searching for new technologies that will enable the transition towards a net-zero world. We are very proud to be involved with Greenbackers Climate Innovation SuperPitch events and we look forward to introducing the 26 chosen companies to the global audience.”
Brown Rudnick is sponsoring the preliminary pitch programmes and the Showcase event, the “26ForCOP26SuperPitch,” at COP26. The event will be livestreamed to a global investor audience.
Neil Foster, Brown Rudnick Partner and Chair of the Firm’s Technology Group, commented, “COP26 is the largest and most important global climate summit in many years. We are pleased to be part of these sustainability initiatives that promote and celebrate cleantech innovators. We have one of the most active legal practices in cleantech and energy transition in the UK and US, closing around a dozen financings and partnership deals for our clients each year in this sector alone, so we are very excited that COP26 is in the UK and that GreenBackers have asked us to work with them on the Climate Innovation SuperPitch.”
