The recorded pitching event showcased 16 leading clean tech founders to an in-person audience of over 50 Investors, market partners and a live online audience of global, tech-hungry funds on the 11th of May 2023 at Barclays Eagle Labs Glasgow.
Greenbackers gathered pre-screened, curated, investor-ready climate ventures for the first of two annual pitching events held at our new offices at Glasgow Eagle Labs. The event hosted climate-focused venture capital investors, first adopters and technology accelerators who all understand that backing green start-ups are the solution to global efforts towards a net-zero planet. After each set of 5 minute pitches, all attendees had a chance to network and establish vital connections, followed by a drinks reception and closer conversations.
The event was sponsored (and attended) by WithersTech, WSP, Net Zero Technology Centre, and Haliburton labs.

Greenbackers were particularly pleased that Khalid Naqib was among our attendees. Khalid is a senior investment officer in cleantech equity and growth capital at European Investment Bank focusing on investing venture debt into cleantech based within the EU. This was particularly relevant to our ventures aspiring to undergo the oft difficult and capital-intensive process of expanding into and/or scaling within the EU market.
Alongside the sponsor films showed during the networking breaks was the Solar Impulse foundation movie which, if you look carefully enough at, you will see the taking of the coolest selfie of all time! – Bertrand Piccard flying in his solar powered plane (starting at 08:32)😊
The pitches were also livestreamed and are now readily available on-demand to all our 380+ investors who are active and registered on the Greenbackers website. Register now to onboard onto our platform to view all our investment-ready ventures and their pitching decks, videos and more!
If you are an investor or climate tech start-up, keep an eye out for our next pitching event which will be held in London later this year!
