Launches ground-breaking deal platform – with over $25 billion in funds
[05 April 2023, Glasgow] Net-Zero, climate and cleantech funding specialists Greenbackers Investment Capital announced the close of their first private funding round. The six-figure equity investment will allow Greenbackers to expand their fintech service offering in Scotland and beyond. This initial round was backed by VC company First Imagine!, a Scottish HNW investor and a private UK capital investment Fund.
- A second close to conclude Greenbackers seed round is scheduled for May and now open to ESG driven investors and funds interested in having a stake in this UK EIS advance-assured business.
- Recognised as a leading fundraising firm for early-stage green and ocean technology ventures, Greenbackers is now scaling its operations to meet the funding needs of clean technologies around the world, which deliver societal and corporate Net Zero targets.
- Nearly 400 Venture Capital, Corporate and Impact Funds, seeking deals in the climate and cleantech arena, have joined Greenbackers program, a fintech enabled deal platform which showcases pre-screened deals in a secure, digital environment. To date, the program has raised over £18m in funds for its clients.
- This growth round helps Greenbackers to increase staff, further enhance their deal platform and expand their offices at Barclays Bank’s new Eagle Labs facility located in Glasgow’s International Financial Services District.
