Greenbackers own Andrew Smith is privileged to have been invited to participate on the panel – Financing Scotland’s Green Transition – taking place from 9:45 to 10:20am on 9th November at Holyrood’s Climate Action Summit 2023 at Dynamic Earth Edinburgh.
Andrew will join a distinguished panel including Sandy Begbie CBE FRSE Chief Executive at Scottish Financial Enterprise and Vicky West Woodland Carbon Code Manager at Scottish Forestry.
Holyrood’s solutions-based, forward-thinking Climate Action Summit 2023 will consider what practical steps need to be taken now if Scotland is to achieve both its net zero and nature restoration targets.
The event will take place following the consultation on the Scottish Government’s Draft Energy Strategy and Just Transition Plan, and publication of draft Just Transition Plans for Buildings and Construction, Land Use and Agriculture and Transport. It will also coincide with their forthcoming Climate Change Plan, expected at the end of 2023.
In a keynote address, Màiri McAllan MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Net Zero and Just Transition, will set out the steps the Scottish Government is taking to deliver its ambition and accelerate action in tackling the twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss.
